March '17 Mardi Gras and Summer Festivals

Mardi Gras, Carnivale, Fat Tuesday! ..... The weekend looked like this , 5 acoustic shows , 2 full shows and the debut of the new KING SIZE SLIM:SOUND line-up. All of this amongst the beautiful annual chaos that is Hastings Fat Tuesday.
Toby Barelli aka KING SIZE SLIM played a variety of shows across the weekend with impromptu acoustic sets all over town culminating in an al fresco set through the cold southerly wind and rain on the terrace of the legendary Old Town Public House 'The Nelson'. In its time, The Nelson, has seen performances and sessions from luminaries such as John Martyn and British Folk legends The Albion Band.
'Slim Monday' @The Palace featured special guests and an 'in-the -round' all acoustic performance from the new Double Bass,two percussion, resonator guitar line-up.
Festivals engagements for summer '17 continue to roll in, with all at KING SIZE SLIM very happy to announce 'KING SIZE SLIM live at Beautiful Days Festival' in August. Rumours abound for other major festivals across the UK and Europe.

February '17 New touring line-up for Eastern Europe Shows

2017 started sharp for all at KING SIZE SLIM with invitiations to play Budapest Spring Festival and Focsani Blues Festival later in the year. These shows will be solo and with a full four piece line up respectively. The unusual new line up features two percussionist and Double bass to compliment the warm driving grooves from Toby Barelli's tricone resonator guitar.
Rehearsals started in early February with sneeky secret gigs providing a flavour or the new sound. The four piece show named KING SIZE SLIM; SOUND will debut live in March playing across the UK and Europe throughout Festival season.

December '16 Last shows of the year and recording at On-U sound

Following end-of-year shows with in Brighton with Son Of Dave and a couple of crazy local shows KING SIZE SLIM made his way to Ramsgate in Kent , the home of On-U sound Records. Guitar hero Skip McDonald ( Sugar Hill Gang,Tackhead, Real World) invited his touring buddy to record live guitars and vocals for his forthcoming 'Little Axe' album. "I want that King Size sound you get outta that steel girl of yours".
They spent a very productive session with On-U sound Boss and producer Adrian Sherwood at the controls. The release of the new 'Little Axe' album is expected in February '17.
All at KING SIZE SLIM are excited about the new year and a good many more trips along the coast to On-U sound in 2017.
